History
The Macquarie University Hockey Club was established in 1970 and has provided opportunities for students, alumni and local community members to continue competitive Hockey into their adult years. The Club was founded with one Men's team, but by 1971, 2 teams were entered in the Sydney competition and the firsts were both minor and major premiers. An auspicious start for the newly formed club. Throughout the 80's, interest in hockey was growing and proposals to build a million dollar stadium on Macquarie grounds seemed promising but ultimately, the plans were scrapped. The club pressed on and continued to grow through the 90's and 00's with 4 teams competing in the metro league. Today the club stands strong with 8 teams, 4 Men's and 4 Women's, competing across three Sydney Leagues.
About Us
We are affiliated to Hockey NSW and compete weekly as part of three local Hockey associations (see below) across a number of divisions. As we are a competitive club, your availability and commitment to competitions is essential. We train weekly throughout the year at:
Ryde Hockey Field on Mondays, 7pm-9pm
Northern District Hockey Complex on Thursdays, 7pm-9pm

Women's Teams
The Macquarie University Hockey Women have 3 teams in the Sydney Women’s Hockey League (SWHL) and 1 team in the Sydney North Women’s Hockey Association (SNW) Competition.
1st Grade – SWHL ML2
2nd Grade – SWHL ML4
3rd Grade – SWHL ML6
4th Grade – SNW DIV C
Men's Teams
The Macquarie University Hockey Men have 2 teams in the SHA competition.
1st Grade – SHA Sydney League 2
2nd Grade – SHA Sydney League
